Case Study: Ready When It Matters - Crisis Management in Rabat, Morocco

The Situation

In January 2025, SilverDoor supported one of our international relocation partners with urgent temporary accommodation and crisis management in Rabat, Morocco. A worker from a global integrated logistics company suffered a house fire and needed to relocate with their partner and child until April. The family needed an apartment with a minimum of two bedrooms, ideally in the Prestigia area of Rabat.

The enquiry was submitted to SilverDoor in the early hours of 14th January.  Our Supply Chain Management team used SilverDoor's local property provider network to find displacement accommodation as quickly as possible, to find a suitable home for the family.

During this time, there were ongoing major preparations in the city ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the biggest football and sporting tournament on the continent. Finding options and availability at such short notice in an unfamiliar and heavily in-demand market was a challenge, but using collaborative forces, SilverDoor found a way.

Navigating options in a challenging market

Giving the guest and their family a choice and the autonomy to control their move after the trauma of losing their home was a key priority for us, so we shared two options within 48 hours: one which prioritised location, and the other prioritising immediate arrival. We found accommodation in safe, well-connected neighbourhoods, with top-tier security protocols (such as unique access codes), and on-site parking with direct access to the apartment – a rare find in Rabat.

Prioritising family wellbeing and security

Step by step guide to prepare for guests' arrival.
Three steps SilverDoor takes to prepare a property before guest arrival: installing required fire safety equipment, completing a pre-arrival quality inspection, and sharing out-of-hours contact details with guests.

Expanding our global network

The family were safely and happily relocated in Prestigia for four months until they were able to return to their permanent home.

In the last year, SilverDoor has significantly expanded our supply chain in Rabat with a range of options for future guests, following the successful relocation and relationships formed in January.

Whether 50 guests are displaced by a natural disaster or one family are displaced by an emergency house fire, SilverDoor's Crisis Management framework involves 24/7 monitoring, with a SilverDoorian always on the other end of the phone for you.
