New Haven is a coastal city in Connecticut that lies on New Haven Harbour and forms part of the New York Metropolitan area.
It has a
population of roughly 130,000 and is home to Yale University: a major Ivy League
college, and New Haven’s largest employer.
Once the home of Native American tribes, New Haven has gone through considerable political change and expansion, and is now regarded as a major culture centre.
Many of its attractions are linked to Yale University
itself, like the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, the Yale Center for
British Art and the Yale Collection of Musical Instruments. Other points of
interest include Lime Rock Park and Long Wharf Theatre.
New Haven is well served by public transport, and connects
to various points along the Northeast corridor via regional rail, commuter rail
and inter-city rail. Those wishing to commute by bus can do so from the main
bus station, New Haven CT, which covers a total of 24 routes. The city also
boasts a number of bike lanes, should you want to cycle during your stay. The
city’s main airport is New Haven Regional Airport.
Little Italy is one of New Haven’s trendiest neighbourhoods
and boasts lots of great places to eat and drink such as Café Fiore, Da Legna.
