All you need to know about Oakland

Oakland is a major port city in California, located across the bay from San Francisco. The city has the busiest port in Northern California, making it a centre of trade for the region. Thousands of jobs in the city are related to the marine cargo transport, making the port one of the busiest areas in the city. The central business district is located in Downtown Oakland, which is also surrounded by industrial areas. San Francisco is just a 20 minute drive away from the city and is a hub for finance and business in North California. San Francisco also has several large tourist attractions, including the Golden Gate Bridge and one of the largest Chinatowns in America.

There are three airports a reasonable distance from Oakland city including Oakland International Airport, San Francisco International Airport, and San Jose International Airport. Oakland International Airport carries flights to, mostly, American states. For European destination, San Francisco Airport is a 30 minute drive away. Oakland is served by the long distance Amtrak line from Emeryville station as well as the Bay Area Rapid Transit from 8 stations across Oakland.
