All you need to know about Ulverston

Ulverston is a market town in Cumbria, England. It’s located roughly eight miles from Barrow In Furness and close to the Lake District. It neighbours the following areas: Rosside, Pennington and Swarthmoor. It has a population of more than 11,000 and is twinned with the French town, Albert. The name Ulverston derives from the Domesday Book and was originally spelt Ulurestun. The town was granted a market charter in 1820 by Edward I, and since then has continued to host weekly markets on Thursday and Saturdays.
