Al Ain is a city Abu Dhabi, part of the United Arab
Emirates. It lies on the border with Oman, and is nicknamed the “Garden City of
the Gulf”, on account of its many parks, oases, tree-lined avenues and
decorative roundabouts. It’s officially the fourth largest city in the United
Arab Emirates, with an estimated population of more 592,000.
Al Ain is a prominent services centre, home to various major
shopping complex and souqs. Its growing industries include car sales and
mechanics. In amongst its various oases is a mixture of modern and pre-modern
buildings which give the city its distinct look. It’s been occupied for more
than 4,000 years, and, during that time, come under attack from various forces.
Regarded as a tourist destination, Al Ain is rich in

The best way to get about in Al Ain is either by bus, car or
taxi. From the city’s central bus station, you can catch a direct bus to Abu
Dubai which comes roughly every 45 minutes. Taxis can be fetched from the same
station. Al Ain International is the city’s main airport.
