Malmo is a city in Sweden, and capital of the county Scania.
After Gothenburg and Stockholm, it’s one of Sweden’s largest cities, and has
population of more than 340,000.
Sources indicate that Malmo is one of Sweden’s earliest
industrialised areas. Once famous for its shipbuilding and concrete factories,
Malmo has undergone considerable development, and, in the process attracted new
companies and businesses - most notably in the technology sector.
Nowadays a commercial centre, the city is home to such large
companies as Skanska, EON Sverige, Pagen and Seavus.
The city features many public parks and historic buildings,
along with museums and galleries. Its best attractions include Oresund Bridge,
Malmo City Library and Little Square - where you’ll find a number of quaint
bars and cafes.
There are many trains that run through Malmo, and offer fast
connections to and from the city. An Oresund train line will take you all the
way from Malmo to Copenhagen Airport in less than hour, whilst its Intercity
trains connect to Kalmar, Stockholm and Gothenburg.
