Grenoble is a city located at the foot of the Alps, South East of France, with a population of around 157,400. Grenoble’s economy revolves around biotechnology and nanotechnology making it one of Europe’s leading cities when it comes to high-tech industries.
Grenoble-Isère is the international airport serving the city, providing connections to cities including London, Cardiff and Dublin. Grenoble is served by an extensive tram and bus network providing access to most of the city. Gare de Grenoble railway station also provides services to Paris and Lyon.
There are many popular attractions within the city including La Bastille, which is home to many ancient defensive walls built within the French mountains. Access to the restaurants and military museum at the top of the mountain is provided by the city’s cable car system, which offers transportation from the bottom to the top of the mountainside. Grenoble is also home to many other museums including the Museum of Grenoble and Grenoble Archaeological Museum.
