Xiamen is a sub-provincial city in China’s Fujian province. It has a population of over 3.5 million, and is divided into the following six districts: Huli, Siming, Jimei, Tong'an, Haicang, and Xiang'an.

Once named China's 2nd most sustainable city for city, Xiamen has a mild climate and boasts an exciting array of mountains, gardens, museums and amusement parks.

Originally a centre for tea trading, Xiamen has a developed economy focused on things like shipbuilding, food processing, textiles and food manufacturing.

The city is revered for its puppet shows, music, and temple celebrations. Popular local attractions include Huli Mountain Fort, Nanputuo Temple and the Xiamen Piano Museum.

Xiamen’s main forms of transport are buses and trains. The Xiamen Metro covers more than 20 stations in and around the city. Those wishing to commute by bus can do so using Xiamen’s BRT system, which has a ticketing system similar to light rail.

Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport is the city’s main airport, and is located to the north east of Xiamen Island.
