All you need to know about Wuhan

Wuhan is capital of China’s Hubei province. It is Central China’s most densely populated city, and is located on the eastern Jianghan Plain, between the rivers Yangtze and Han. Together with the cities Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang it is known as China’s thoroughfare.

Regarded as a major transport hub, Wuhan is overrun with roads, expressways and railways, which connect it to other main cities in China.

The city has close economic ties with France, on account of its automobile manufacturing, and continues to attract healthy foreign investment. Its main industries are biology engineering, optic-electronic, iron & steel, and pharmaceuticals.

Wuhan is rich in culture. Its popular attractions include museums, parks, temples and lakes. Sites worth seeing include the Hubei Provincial Museum, Guiyuan Temple, and the Han Show Theatre.

Wuhan has an established transport system. Its main railway station operates a high-speed train service which runs from Wuhan to Guangzhou in record time. The city also has a metro system which connects to Beijing, Shanghai and Tianhe. Wuhan International is Wuhan’s main airport, and lies 16 miles north of the city.
