All you need to know about Wagga Wagga

Wagga Wagga is major regional city in New South Wales, which lies halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. It’s located on the Murrumbidgee River, and has a population of more 64,000 people.

It’s an important transport, military and agricultural hub, with a thriving central business district, home to the Wagga Wagga Marketplace shopping centre.

Wagga Wagga has a temperate climate which interchanges between cold winters and hot, dry summers. Summer is generally one of the most popular times to visit, due to the city’s offering of outdoor activities.

Wagga Wagga is served by a number of buses and trains which connect it to neighbouring towns and suburbs. Taxis are also available, and can be found in Station Place, Forsyth Street and Gurwood Street, as well by Kooringal Mall. Wagga Wagga’s Airport – the city’s main airport - is a busy regional transport hub, with regular flights to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast. 

Local attractions include Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens, the National Art Glass Gallery, and the Museum of the Riverina. Other points of interest range from Lake Albert - famed for its sunsets - to Wagga Wagga Beach – where you can enjoy a BBQ on a hot summer’s day.
